Would it be better said, Facebook vs Google?
I have been saying this for some time now, around my work spreading my prediction. "If Google is not careful Facebook will take most of their traffic away".
All Facebook really needs is a specific platform for web searching, which I think I might have the idea for but don't care to share it just to see if my speculation was right. Call me crazy, but I also said that Google was going to take over Microsoft at some point if Microsoft wasn't careful.
I think anything on the internet is possible, yes even time travel...
In all seriousness Google should not be focused on creating a social network or bad mouthing Facebook over contact importing but they should be humble and take one in the face. It would have been fantastic if Google's browser would have had options like RockMelt to lock people in the dependency of Google and Facebook, or perhaps social add-ons by Google that used popular social platforms
At the end of the day it's not a real fight, both companies serve different users. Facebook has users coming back on an emotional level, and Google has users coming back on a logical and answer finding quest level.
