I just finished sending Pandora a suggestion that I would like to share with you guys. I’m a bit tired of certain artist on my Pandora list, so my suggestion is the following;
Call it “Lists.”
You will have a list that you add artist to, now the streaming radio application grabs those artists and does not put any of their songs on your listening queue (I rather listen to commercials).
The list may have three settings;
- None
- Featured
- TimeLine
None
Play none of these artists songs, even if featured.
Featured
If some of your favorite artists collaborated with the artist on your list and they are featured the song will play, to avoid you missing out on your artists. Let’s not let one person ruin the party!
TimeLine (is this trademarked?)
TimeLine, allows you to set a range date for that artist. Let’s just say an artist had a stellar start in his career, but the quality of his music downgraded as time passed, then put the time that you would like to select or the albums that you liked. I’m more than sure that these streaming radio applications have the data for the song’s release date.
Make it Happen!
Anyway, if any of you services can make this happen, I think this will give them an edge, this can also provide valuable data and useful data as to whom is the most disliked artist.
Of course “Lists” can be reversed and set so you can add artist inwhich you love, but it’s easier to weed out those you don’t care to listen to, unless your list is incredibly long. Just because I love a certain genre of music does not mean I think all artist provide the same quality of music.
